COMMEMORATIVE MONUMENT

THE MONUMENT, LONDON, COMMEMORATES THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON IN 1666. THE MONUMENT WAS BUILT BETWEEN 1671-1677. IT IS 203 FEET FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, THE EXACT DISTANCE TO PUDDING LANE WHERE THE FIRE BROKE OUT.
YOU CAN CLIMB THE 311 STEPS TO THE VIEWING PLATFORM TO GET MAGNIFICENT VIEWS OF LONDON.

    You are quite right, but they were closing for the day when I arrived. Next time I go to London, I will go to the top and take a photo. The last time I went to the top, was about 30years ago.
