PORT KIRWAN

PORT KIRWAN
THIS IS A SMALL FISHING COMMUNITY ON THE SOUTHERN SHORE OF THE AVALON PENINSULA IN NEWFOUNDLAND, CANADA. IT WAS INCORPORATED IN 1965 AS PORT KIRWAN, NAMED AFTER REVEREND MOTHER MARY BERNARD KIRWAN, WHO FOUNDED THE PRESENTATION SISTERS OF NEWFOUNDLAND IN 1853. PRIOR TO THIS, IT WAS ORIGINALLY KNOWN AS ADMIRAL'S COVE, AFTER THE ENGLISH FISHING ADMIRALS WHO USED TO DOCK IN THE HARBOUR.

  1. A quaint place, a long way from Wales. You must have a good telly lens.
