CABOT TOWER BRISTOL

CABOT TOWER,
BRISTOL, ENGLAND.

BUILT IN 1897-98 IN MEMORY AND TO COMMEMORATE THE DISCOVERY OF THE CONTINENT OF NORTH AMERICA, 400 HUNDRED YEARS EARLIER, BY JOHN CABOT. JOHN CABOT SET SAIL FROM BRISTOL IN THE MATTHEW AND LANDED IN BONAVISTA, NEWFOUNDLAND, ON 24th JUNE 1497.

  1. It reminds me of a Spanish or Italian tower. It is beautiful. I am glad he also discovered America.

  5. I remember my dad saying, when we visited the tower in Bristol, "When someone asks me now if I have ever been to Cabot Tower I can say, which one?" That was in 1978.
