  1. The Severn is really quite stunning, isn't it? I passed it several times when I used to visit my animals in quarantine near Gloucester.

  2. Hi Emm,
You are correct, the Severn is quite stunning. From a little river at Gloucester to what seems like an ocean in a relative short distance. This gives rise to the phenomenon known as the Severn Bore, but that's another story. Thanks for looking in and your comment.

  3. Oooh, I had to Google the Severn Bore. It sounds like a similar thing to the tidal wave threat we have in London, and the reason for the Thames Barrier.

  4. Hi Emm,
I'm glad you looked up the "Severn Bore", it really is a spectacular sight, I'm sure it is on Youtube somewhere. People are often seen surfing the wave as it proceeds upstream to Gloucester. Thanks for your comments and interest.
