ReplyDeleteI just wish there were no more graves to photograph, but unfortunately, all too often we see soldiers being brought home for burial from Afghanistan.Such a waste of young lives.
Thank you for this post. I recognise the graves and memorials as being from the Somme area of France. Your photos are a fitting tribute to the fallen of all wars. They are also a stark reminder of the futility and waste of war. "Lest we Forget!"
ReplyDeleteHi Matron,
ReplyDeleteI agree entirely with your comment. When will it all end? Thanks for looking in.
Hi Puzzled,
ReplyDeleteYou are quite correct in your observation of where the memorials are. This is an area of France where the futility of war is very real with the thousands upon thousands of gravestones of the fallen from both sides. Thanks for your comment.
